What Is A Pimple?

A pimple is a small pustule or papule.

Pimples develop when sebaceous glands, or oil glands, become clogged and infected, leading to swollen, red lesions filled with pus.

Pimples are a part of acne.

They are most likely to occur around puberty, but they can happen at any age.

Pimples most often affect the face, back, chest, and shoulders.

This is because there are many sebaceous glands in these areas of the skin.

The Main Causes of Pimple :

1. Hormones :

The most difficult cases to deal with are the hormonal and genetic factors.

Your skin may simply be prone to getting acne.

When the body begins to produce hormones called androgens.

These hormones cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge.

Which is a natural part of the body’s development.

The sebaceous glands are overstimulated by androgens, which can sometimes persist well into adulthood.

Androgens are also responsible for flare-ups during the menstrual cycle and, for some people during pregnancy.

2. Sebum Function :

When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum (oil).

Sebum is a waxy or oily substance that lubricates the skin and hair.

As the sebum makes its way up the follicle towards the skin’s surface, it mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle.

Sometimes, dead skin cells are not shed.

They remain in the pores and get stuck together by the sticky sebum, causing a blockage in the pore.

Pore blockage is more likely to occur during puberty.

As the sebaceous glands produce more sebum at this time.

The presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging.

Which is one of the causes of pimples.

3. Bacteria :

The bacteria exists in all skin types.

This encourages the growth of undesirable bacteria where sebum and dead skin cells accumulate and block a pore.

The slow-growing bacteria feed off the sebum and produce a substance that causes an immune response.

This leads to skin inflammation and spots.

Although pimples are related to bacterial infection.

They are not contagious.

One person cannot catch pimples from another.

4. Dandruff Hair :

Dandruff can trigger acne on the forehead as it is basically a skin infection.

It is caused by fungi that can also irritate the skin on your forehead.

One of the causes pimples on the forehead.

5. Medicines  Effect :

Medications like birth control pills tend to trigger pimples in certain people.

Consult/question your doctor about the medication he has prescribed if this happens.

6. Digestive Problem :

Digestive problems are probably the one of main causes of pimples if you do not have the issues mentioned above.

Even according to Chinese medicine, pimples are related to digestive issues.

7. Stress :

Stress is one factor that contributes to most of our illnesses in some way or the other.

It can disrupt the hormonal balance and also the regular oil production of the skin, causing pimples.

8. Cosmetic :

Hairstyling products like hair spray, heat protectant, serum, etc., tend to trigger pimples when they come into contact with your forehead.

Makeup is a common cause of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and inflammation.

Unlike cleansing facial products, many brands of makeup are not pore-friendly.

9. Pressure :

If you are someone who drives two-wheelers then a helmet is a must.

However, the inside of the helmet is not easy to clean.
